Savile Row, London

About this Project

Address: 23 Savile Row, London, W1S 2ET

New Age Glass Ltd (NAG) worked closely with MoreySmith, from initial sample stage, to source a particularly sized solid glass brick for a prestigious project in the heart of London’s bespoke tayloring district; Savile Row.

NAG supported with the structural design of intermediate steel framework focusing on the specific design intent whilst also considering the buildability & feasibility. The 6 metre wide by 4 metre high ground floor reception area had been split into smaller sections to aid structural feasibility and manage tolerances within the glass bricks. Each section consisted of either 3 or 4 glass bricks wide by 37 or 39 glass bricks high, a total of 1,672nr glass bricks were used.

A minimal mortar/grout visual was a specific preference from the client so we included 10mm vertical and 6mm horiztonal joints between the glass bricks and spent time raking back to one face creating a recessed grout joint to enhance the glazed bricks.
