New Age Glass took in 2no very worn and tired-looking Cast Iron Pavement Lights from a private client in East London. They challenged us with the task of making both look as good as new.

We carefully removed all glass lenses (damaged and un-damaged) from the pockets within the frames. Once de-glazed we had the frames sandblasted to remove any imperfections and take back to original finish.

Once de-glazed and sandblasted, the frames were ready to be re-glazed. Using original 4 x 3in glass lenses and our special bedding material we carefully re-glazed the frames. Where the arch formes in the cast iron frame, special ‘cut’ pieces of glass were required. Using our hi-tech cutting equipment, we were able to cut the lenses to the bespoke sizes.

Once fully glazed and grouted, these refurbished Victorian cast iron pavement lights were 100% water tight and ready to be re-installed to test the time for decades to come.
